Catholic Memorial High School aka CM is my alma mater.  CM is a private all boys catholic high school right out of the city of Boston in West Roxbury, MA.  CM is plays in the catholic conference with other top notch schools in the state of Massachusetts.  Because all of the schools in the catholic conference are all private boys schools they get the top athletes not just from there region but from all over.  For example; a good friend of mine at CM was on the hockey team and he drove every day to Boston from Rhode Island.  That just goes to show how competitive the CM athletic program is as we get kids from all over to play at one of the most competitive division 1 schools in the state.  Hockey for example is probably the best team at the school because of its 17 state championships, and its 6 national championships.  There have also been 7 players that have gone on to play in the NHL including; Chris Nilan '86 (Stanley Cup winner with the Montreal Canadiens), Jim Walsh '72 (Northeastern University Hall of Fame), Kevin Ahearn ’66, Harvard head coach Ted Donato ‘87, defenseman Paul Stanton ’85 (two-time Stanley cup winner with the Pittsburgh Penguins), goaltender Jim Carey ’92, and defenseman Jim Fahey ’98 (2002 Hobie Baker finalist for Northeastern).  CM during my 4 years of high school won the state title in Hockey, Basketball, and Soccer.  And also not to mention many great Track and Field stars that went on to win individual accolades and championships at the sport.

During my time at CM I pretty much went to school every day mainly because I played sports their all of the time.  Freshman year I played baseball, and basketball.  Sophomore year I played basketball, Junior year I ran varsity track, same with senior year, and also senior year I was the book keeper for the baseball team.  My time at CM was tough as it was a constant competition on the athletic surfaces to compete for a spot on the team.  You know that if you made a team at CM you new that you had a tremendous opportunity to make the a run for a division 1 state title in Massachusetts.  Vince in Bono Malum which means Conquer Evil by Doing Good.  Thats the CM motto and that is what I live by every day.
