Sullivan's (Sullys)

Sullivan's
Sullivan's (Sullys) at Castle Island in South Boston is my favorite restaurant in the City of Boston.  When I was younger I can just remember my grandparents taking my brother and I over to Southie to go walk around Castle Island and after the walk grab a bite to eat.  Castle Island and Sullys has been around for 60 years as it opened in 1951.  It's just a big island where during the summer time people just walk around as it is surrounded by the water, sailing boats, fishing boats, logan airport which is right across the street, and an old old castle which was actually used during World War I.  Sullys is a restaurant with no where to sit on the inside so you must go outside where you have many options to sit especially if is a hot day out.  You can sit on the few benches or tables, you can sit in your car, you can sit on the beach, on the grass, it doesn't matter.

Sullys is known for not being to flashy.  It's the uniquiness and the experience of just walking around Castle Island and just smelling water right and the pressence of all of the seagulls trying to snag your food away from you.  It's one of those places that just can't be changed as it's just good old Boston at its finest.  If it got too fancy and or too expensive the joint would be shut down.  There is a fine reason why it has stayed the same for 60 years and that's because the people of Boston like it just the way it is.

jetBlue

jetBlue Airways
The very first time I flew on a plane was back in August of 2004 with my family and friends to Orlando, Florida from Boston, Massachusetts.  I flew on Jet Blue and it was one of the best experiences of my life, that is flying for the first time.  Jet Blue's attractions have given me a comfort level to fly because I have tremendous trust in them.  I have flewn well over 20 times with Jet Blue and I can tell ya that I am ok if that is the only plain that I will ever fly.  I've taken two trips with two other airlines in Southwest which was a total disaster, and Frontier which was small and a rather big disappointment.

Jet Blue offers unbelievable leg room which is a gold mine to me because of my long legs especially when you are flying say to California which might be a 6 hour flight.  You want that guaranteed leg room which just makes your life so much better.  Also Jet Blue has TV's on every single one of the backs of all the seats.  The have a deal with Direct TV to give you up to 70 channels to choose from.  That just makes the flight no matter where you are going go much quicker and smoother.  You get great inflight snacks along with Dunkin Donuts brewed coffee.  And the staff is unlike no other as everyone is just on board to help you in any which way.  Also there are always cheap flights especially on Tuesdays (fyi).

The Hit That Changed The Patriots Franchise

Drew Bledsoe hit by Mo Lewis
During the 6th round of the 2000 NFL draft when the New England Patriots pick was coming up no one Pats fan cared or probably new anything about this skinny qurterback out of Michigan.  Especially when the Patriots had there franchise QB in Drew Bledsoe under center.  Considering that Brady was pick 199 people looked at it and probably laughed saying ok cool this is our backup QB for the next 4 years or so.  Little day Pats fans know that on week 2 of the 2001 season Mo Lewis, linebacker of the New York Jets at old Foxborough Stadium in New England absolutley clobbered Drew Bledsoe out of bounds and made him so dillusion that he was just instantly out of it the second he got hit.  Lewis just didn't nail Bledsoe as many fans in the upper sections of the stadium that night said they could hear the hit, but he hit him upright which is not a fun place to be hit.  Bledsoe right away was dealing with some internal bleeding.

That night was the beginning of the career of Tom Brady.  Brady that season in 2001 lead the Pats to a Super Bowl victory in big upset form over the St. Louis Rams when Adam Vinetairi hit a game winning field goal down in the New Orleans Superdome.  Brady's great 2 minute drive lead to that field goal and won him MVP of that game.  In 2003 Brady won another Super Bowl MVP with the same result in an Adam V game winning field goal against the Carolina Panthers at Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX.  And the last time the Patriots won a Super Bowl was against the Philadelhia Eagles in Jacksonville, FL back in 2004.  Brady and the Patriots lost their 17-0 perfect record in the last two minutes back in 2007 against the underdog New York Giants at the University of Phoenix Stadium, in Phoenix, AZ.  Brady has also won two MVP awards in 2007, and 2010.  He will go down as one of if not the greatest QB of all time.  And don't forget that Drew Bledsoe's career did not end after that hit as he bounced back and had 5 more NFL season after the 2001 season.  He played 3 seasons with the Buffalo Bills and 2 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys all after his illustrious 9 seasons with the Patriots after being drafted in 1993.

The Kendrick Perkins Trade

LOS ANGELES, CA - JUNE 15: Kendrick Perkins #43 of the Boston Celtics looks on while taking on the Los Angeles Lakers in Game Six of the 2010 NBA Finals at Staples Center on June 15, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. The Boston Celtics traded away there starting center during the last seconds of the 2011 midseason trade deadline on February 25th.  Many people are very upset about this trade as they say that Perkins is the only reason why the Celtics didn't win the title last year because of Perks injury he suffered during game 6 out in LA.  Rightfully so I do believe that was a huge reason why they lost that game but a real fan who understands the nature of the game knows that, that is no excuse why the Lakers won title 16.  Perkins has been a Celtic for the past 7 and a half years and was the rock on the defensive end.  Many say he is the best one on one defensive center in the game.  Even though the C's don't have their dominant low post center who demands toughness.  I mean you mine as well put a beware of dog sign around his neck because that's how dominant he was, the Celtics still have a very good defensive team.  They have a team surrounded by veterans like Shaq, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, Glen Davis, and Jermaine O'Neal followed up by a great coach in Doc Rivers.

The Celtics that day traded Perkins along with backup combo guard Nate Robinson to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Forward Jeff Green, and veteran center Nenad Kristic.  Kristic is no Perk on the defensive end but he still is 7 feet tall with probably better offensive skills.  Jeff Green is a guy who can spread the floor as he is a small forward and a power forward.  He can go down low in the post and dominate down there or he can spread the floor and shoot jump shots from even three point range on a consistent basis.  The Celtics still have the pedigree and the heart to win the championship.  They still can do it as long as they are healty which is a main factor here down the stretch.

Universal Studios Orlando Florida

Universalorlando

Universal Studios Florida is one of the best theme parks in the world.  I am a little bias as I have been their 7 times.  My family has tried to go their once every year since 2004 with other family and friends as it is just the place to be.  My impression has been that every single time that I have been their I have had the time of my life because the only thing that I have to think about is what ride am I going on next.  It's also just a ball to be with family and friends and just riding the roller coasters all day is just a thrill.

Their are two theme parks called Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.  When you go to Islands now they just made the Wizarding World of Harry Potter which I have yet to see but I hear it is a thrill.  Then you have rides like the Hulk Coaster, Suess Landing, Jurassic Park, Spiderman, Dudley Do Right, Dueling Dragons, it's just all a big thrill.  At Universal you can go see the Blue Man Group live any day but of course it is an extra fee.  But once you get down to the rides you can ride the Mummy, Shrek 4D, Twister, Nickelodeon, Men In Black, Jaws, the Simpsons, and of course you could attempt to go on Fear Factor Live.  People just have to understand that it is a place where you you could be 75 years old, 45 years old, 20 years old, or 5 years old and everyone is guaranteed to have a good time.

Emack and Bolio's

Emack & Bolio’s Marketplace
Emack and Bolio's

Emack and Bolio's is my favorite ice cream parlor.  It has the best tasting hard ice cream and it's straight out of Boston, Massachusetts in 1976.  It is also known for its sorbets and frozen yogurts which happen to award winning.  It's the best place to go especially on a hot summer day in Boston when I am dripping of sweat.  My usual reaction if ice cream is on my mind is to hit up Emack's.  "Bye Bye Miss America Mud Pie, Deep Purple Cow, Jumping Jack Grasshopper Pie, and Chocolate Moosetrack.  Emack's is also good for frappes, lattes, candy, soda, bagels, muffins, you name it they have got it.  They also brew Starbucks coffee.

Where I live there is an Emack and Bolio's literally two minutes down the road from my house so it is easy for me to get there whenever I want to.  Emack and Bolio's is also at Universal Orlando's Hard Rock Hotel which is where I have stayed 5 times in my life time.  So, whenever I stayed at the Hard Rock I use to always go have a midnight snack of whatever ice cream I wanted and in the morning I usually most days got breakfast down there also.  The quality of Emack's is just great as I always think of home whenever I eat it wherever I eat it.

Drake

Drake

To me Drake is the best new rapper in the game right now.  His music style has many different ranges.  If you want he can flat out sing, or if you want he can just go to work and spit game.  His music lyrics are just  off the charts as he just has tremendous range and potential in everything that he does.  His real name is Aubrey Drake Graham and he was born on October 24th 1986.  He raised in Canada and he is jewish which is something that not a lot of people know about him.  Drake played Jimmy Brooks on the Nickelodoen show Degrassi.  Drake has a deal with Interscope records and his boss is non other than Lil Wayne.  Most of his songs are actually duets with other artists like lil wayne, jay-z, rhianna, eminem, nicki minaj, and rick ross just to mention a few.  He started making mix tapes back in 2006 with Room for Improvement, in 2007 with Comeback Season, and in 2009 with So Far Gone.  Drake's first album Thank Me Later came out on June 9, 2010 and was just an instant hit record.  His record label is with Young Money/Cash Money, and Universal Motown.

Before I saw Drake live for the first time (at the TD Garden in Boston at the Monster Jam concert) I just couldn't wrap it around my head that this guy is going to be off the charts.  And he sure was as he played my favorite Drake songs like; Fireworks, Over, Show Me a Good Time, Up All Night, Fancy, Shut it Down, Unforgettable, Miss Me, Find Your Love, and Thank Me Now.  I believe that Drake is going to be one of the best rappers of all time for as long as he's still in the game for at least the next 20 years.
